As the only Community Foundation in Jersey we are dedicated to facilitating high impact, evidence-based philanthropy. We provide donors with an unparalleled level of assurance that their funds will be applied to the areas of greatest local need through rigorous needs analysis, scrutiny of the use of funds and close liaison with the many hundreds of local charities.
Since our establishment in 2020 we have awarded almost £8 million in grants to over 350 organisations and individuals. Our aim is to work closely with all new island residents to help connect them with local causes they care about. We aim to deliver value and impact, often through the use of donor advised funds.
We would welcome the opportunity to meet you and to explain our work in more detail. We appreciate that not all new residents will wish to donate to local causes or engage with philanthropy and respect that decision. If you are a new High Value Resident to Jersey, we would greatly appreciate making a connection and learning about your experiences of giving, however big or small. This may in turn help us to evolve our offering for the ultimate benefit of our island community.
Supporting you on your philanthropic journey
When it comes to philanthropy, it can be challenging to know where to begin. In a crowded landscape where charitable organisations and causes are competing for donations, it can become overwhelming and difficult to navigate what should be a rewarding and joyful experience.
In Jersey, there are over 470 registered Jersey Charities, and over 1300 Not for Profits, and we appreciate it can be difficult to find the time to give efficiently and to causes where your funds are going to have the greatest impact.
We can provide strategic guidance and support. We are your trusted philanthropic partner ensuring that the funds you donate are properly used, secure and strategically invested in line with your wishes.
How we work with individuals & families
Setting up a fund through JCF is similar to having your own charitable trust but without the hassle of administration or worrying about governance, recruiting trustees, producing audited accounts and reporting to regulators. We take care of that.
It’s quick and easy to start and whatever your reasons or motivations for giving, we’ll ensure your fund is future proof and suits your wishes and your circumstances. With access to our expert team, deep community knowledge, research and advice on giving we’ll guide you through options and deliver regular feedback and reports on how you’re changing lives and making a difference.
