Jersey Community Foundation and Sedel-Collings Foundation partner to launch ‘Supporting the Supporters’ grant scheme

Jersey Community Foundation (JCF) is proud to announce a new collaboration with the Sedel-Collings Foundation to launch the ‘Supporting the Supporters’ grant scheme, starting with an initial fund of £100,000.

This innovative funding opportunity will provide grants ranging from £500 to £5,000 to not-for-profit, voluntary and charitable organisations in Jersey that are dedicated to supporting the wellbeing, training and development of their staff, volunteers and trustees.

At a time when the voluntary and charitable sectors face increasing demands, compounded by ongoing economic challenges, this grant scheme is design to strengthen the resilience and long-term sustainability of these organisations.

The fund supports creative and forward-thinking approaches to staff and volunteer wellbeing, such as therapy, peer support, team-building activities and professional development. By prioritising wellbeing, the scheme aims to boost morale, increase psychological safety at work and empower staff to address the challenges that come with their roles. The long-term goal is to encourage a lasting change in workforce wellbeing practices.

Anna Terry, CEO of Jersey Community Foundation, highlights the importance of the grant scheme, saying, "We know that those on the front lines, supporting vulnerable individuals and communities, need to feel strong and supported themselves. Through this collaboration with the Sedel-Collings Foundation, we hope to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the workforce in our vital island community organisations. This fund is an important step in ensuring these organisations can continue to provide exceptional support to those in need."

Eligibility for the grant is limited to not-for-profit, voluntary and community groups, as well as registered charities operating in Jersey. Please note, individuals, government bodies are not eligible. The closing date for applications is the 23rd November, with decisions made within one month of submission. Successful applicants will be required to submit a report evaluating the impact and outcomes of the funded activities.
